Fill in this form for me to help
safeguard your local services

WE think the future’s bright but without your help, we don’t want to have to rely on a crystal ball to determine our fate.

survey picI’m not one for star gazing – unless it’s listening to Rod Stewart or looking at Mandela actor Idris Elba – so let’s concentrate on everyday matters we can influence and change.

You’ve not got long – less than a week in fact – but there’s still time to fill in a Lichfield District Council survey which will help guide our elected members on the right path to providing future services in the area.

There is no doubting that this questionnaire is a VERY IMPORTANT, and so I’m asking local VIPs – that’s everyone on my emailing list – to take part.

Every year the local authority spends more than £10million on delivering a first class range of services – from planning to town centre promotions; determining grants to emptying dustbins of the black, blue and brown variety; as well as supporting local businesses beat the challenge presented by austere times.

As a member of this local authority these last three years, I have been party to cutting costs. Our current savings programme, Fit For The Future, has already saved £4.8million and funding cuts mean we need to claw back half as much again – £2.4million – by 2016.

Difficult decisions lie ahead for the Lichfield councillors. What should we cut or reduce and which services could we charge for, in order to raise more income?

Every year we ask for your views on local services. Every year we value your responses but because of our present pressured financial position – 2014 is even more vital in receiving your FEEDBACK on a whole plethora of subjects.

The important issues include services we have to provide; ones we choose to provide; your use of council facilities and ideas to generate income and save money.

A four-sided questionnaire called Your View is available from the council house – but if you go to this link then you will able to fill in the 80-question ‘tick-box’ survey online which is a whole lot easier.
Taking part in the questionnaire has added benefits – as you have the chance to win one of four great prizes which include a year’s free gym membership; two tickets to see Houghtons Weavers at the Lichfield Garrick; a guided city walking tour and cream tea for two or Gruesome and Ghostly tour; and finally two tickets for Lichfield Cathedral’s New Tower Tour.

The survey should only take up a few minutes of but it is INVALUABLE to in terms of giving us your views.

Closing date for the poll is Monday, June 23 at 5pm – for either the printed or online responses.

Don’t forget – YOU can make all the difference if you TELL us how you feel. Relax with a cuppa and go to
