Get Involved-Become a Local Councillor!
The Conservative Party is seeking people interested in becoming local council candidates for the May 2014 Borough Council elections.
Borough Councillors are responsible for delivery of local services such as bin collection, street cleaning, planning, open spaces, play areas, setting council tax, licensing, outdoor events, social housing and other important local services. Councillors also have a role helping to resolve community issues and provide community leadership.
Being a councillor is also a hugely rewarding experience. You get the opportunity to put something back into your community. You get to shape and change Tamworth.
The election campaign itself is also a rollercoaster of excitement and something many consider to be a memorable and unique experience.
If you are interested in getting involved and learning how the services in you town are run, you want to put something back into the Tamworth community, or you are interested in public service, then this might be an opportunity for you. Most of the meetings Borough Councillors attend are in the evening, many Councillors have full time jobs as well.
If you are interested in being considered for a candidacy, would like an application form or would like more information, please contact us on 01827 57156 or e-mail email@example.com. More information about this is available at http://www.conservatives.com/Get_involved.
Local councillors are ordinary people from every walk of life, so this is something anyone can do.
Thank you for your time.
